Stretch At Work is interactive exercise software for office workers that guides viewers through a series of relaxing stretching exercises designed to relieve stress and reduce muscle tension associated with long hours of computer use that can aggravate fibromyalgia and cause carpal tunnel syndrome, neck and shoulder pain, lower back and hip pain, and headaches.
Developed by Dr. Lucy Whyte Ferguson, DC, the Stretch At Work CD-ROM can be
programmed at selected intervals to remind computer users to take a stretch break during work to relieve the
muscles most commonly involved in repetitive strain injuries (RSI). More than 60 different stretches are
organized into 12 video segments performed by live models on location at historic Taos Pueblo, a World Heritage
Site in New Mexico. With the majestic Sangre de Cristo Mountains as a backdrop, Stretch At Work transports
computer users to a virtual spa vacation beneath expansive blue skies and towering mountains.
Effective, user-friendly exercises include classic myofascial stretches, Qi Gong, Tai Chi, and Yoga segments designed to help improve general fitness and well being by increasing circulation, relieving muscle strain, boosting energy, and reducing stress.
